THINGS THAT I WISH I HAD KNOWN IN MY 20'S

  • FOCUS MORE ON YOURSELF AND LESS ON OTHERS -I remember a time when I was so concerned with what everyone else was doing, what I should be doing and where I should be going with my life- but the truth is that you can decide, and you don't need to fit in with society's expectations. So long as you have a way of supporting yourself and have a place to stay - then you don't need to worry.

  • DON'T BE SCARED TO MAKE A CAREER CHANGE -I really waited way to long to leave retail, and somehow it was only until recently that I realised that i'd really had enough. I always knew that I never had any interest in progressing in retail, but I was so caught up in making money, that I never got round to really putting in time and effort into applying for the jobs that I really wanted.

  • DON'T CHASE MONEY, CHASE YOUR PASSION- When you have a job that you dislike and that you don't care for, you can only ignore how you feel about it for so long, it will catch up with you.Money will keep you temporarily happy whilst you accept the misery of doing something 5 days a week, that you don't want to do

  • BOYFRIENDS COME AND GO BUT FRIENDS CAN LAST FOREVER-You may think that the boyfriend that your currently with, is the one, but sometimes things don't work out and thats okay. You'll need your friends though regardless of whether you have a boyfriend/ husband or not. Friends are essential to your development and your happiness- don't neglect them

  • HEALTH REALLY IS WEALTH- Everything is fine and dandy, until your not feeling well. Without wealth you can accumulate wealth. People often put their health and fitness last, because they can get caught up with all the things that they have to do.When you hit your 30's you really start to realise that your health really is your responsibility and how you age depends on what you do and the choices you make.

  • BE PROUD TO BE DIFFERENT AND STICK TO YOUR CHOICES-Trying to fit in with others despite your own wishes, thoughts and beliefs, helps no one at the end of the day.Trying to be like other is a loosing battle and comparing yourself to others is the thief of joy.Be proud to be yourself and stick to your own choices.

  • YOUR OWN OPINION MATTERS MOST- Being swayed by other peoples opinions, is fine to a certain extend but it becomes a problem when you don't value your own opinion and avoid making choices for yourself.

  • NEVER PUT UP WITH AN ABUSIVE BOSS-Never put up with an abusive boss ever. If you don't agree with their behaviour, problem solve but by all means don't sit and do nothing about it. At the very lease plan your escape and move onto some other place where are treated right and respected.

  • IF YOUR NOT HAPPY, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT -Change can be scary, but theres nothing more scary that being in a situation that you have no control over and are unhappy. The one thing that you can do, is make a change and have the courage to do something about it. Easier said than done I know- but so long as we all know it's an option, rather putting up with an ongoing nightmare.

  • ACTION KILLS ANXIETY- Anxiety is absolutely horrible, but I do know that is often the worrying about it. whilst feeling powerless or not doing anything about the situation, often makes things worst. Taking action and making changes could be your solution.
