TIPS FOR GETTING BACK INTO SHAPE AFTER THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC

  • DON'T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF- A lot of people will be really hard on themselves and try to use this as a form of motivation and discipline-but I have learnt that this approach does not work for everyone.I think that understanding yourself in these situations is much more important. If you know that you procrastinate when you make yourself do things that you don't want to do, then maybe think about ways that you can make it more fun. If you know you hate going to the gym, why not try home-works and jogging instead.Figure out what works for you.

  • DECIDE ON WHAT YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON -Think about what areas you want to work on, and then go from there.Using a variety of machines at the gym, with no idea what they do could lead anyone to demotivation because you have no goals, nothing to track and not much to get excited about.Think about what you want to get out of this.

  • BE REALISTIC WITH THE GOALS THAT YOU SET - It's a great idea to start out with small and manageable workouts only 1-2 times a week. Not only with this boost your confidence by doing things that you know you can do , but it really takes the pressure off. Eventually you'll be able to build up your workouts and most importantly make it a new healthy habit.

  • START OFF WITH EASY GOALS AND THEN SLOWLY INCREASE INTENSITY AND FREQUENCY-It boosts confidence- takes the pressure off and allows you to find your flow.

  • TRY TO MAKE IT ENJOYABLE- Not everyone is a gym person. Some people prefer dancing, yoga, pilates ( the list goes on), think about what you enjoy, and then working out wont be so much of a task.
